Brief professional history

Following a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Physics and Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Radiation and Environmental Protection I worked as Radiation Protection Consultant to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), advising staff working on environmental remediation and nuclear safety projects in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. I left the EBRD to pursue a Doctorate (Ph.D.) at the University of Surrey (U.K.) where I conducted research in applied radiation physics, largely related to imaging multiphase pipeline flows and radiation detector development. I was awarded a Ph.D. in 1999, and continued to work as a research fellow at Surrey on innovative radiation detection technologies.

In 2001, I started a postdoctoral research position at the National Microelectronics Centre (CNM) in Barcelona Spain, funded by a Marie Curie Fellowship grant from the European Union. My research at CNM was largely focused on the development of radiation detectors for use in applications including imaging with synchrotron radiation and satellite-based X-ray astronomy.

Whilst at CNM I became certified as a superviser of radiation facilities by the Spanish Nuclear Security Council, and subsequently founded Radiansa Consulting in 2004.
